1. WHAT IS SONG SLEUTH?
Song Sleuth is a web app designed to help Spotify users purchase tracks from their playlists. Simply link your Spotify account, browse your playlists, and click the vendor links provided to purchase your favourite tracks from Apple Music, Discogs, and more. It's built for DJs, record collectors, and anyone who values owning their music permanently.
2. HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Getting started is simple:
- Create a Song Sleuth account using your email and password.
- Go to Account → Linked Accounts and connect your Spotify account.
- Navigate to your Library to browse your playlists and tracks.
- Click any vendor link next to a track to purchase it.
3. HOW DO APPLE MUSIC LINKS WORK?
When you click an Apple Music link, your browser will open the Apple Music web page for that track. To complete your purchase you will need to:
- Click the Apple Music link next to the track.
- On the Apple Music page, click "Open in Apple Music".
- Complete your purchase within the Apple Music app.
We're working on simplifying this process in a future update.
4. WHY ARE SOME TRACKS SHOWING "NO PURCHASE LINKS AVAILABLE"?
Not every track is available for purchase on every platform. If a track shows "No purchase links available" it means we were unable to find a matching listing on our supported platforms at this time. We're continually expanding our platform integrations — Amazon Music and Beatport support are planned for a future release.
5. WHAT IS SONG SLEUTH BETA?
Song Sleuth is currently in beta, which means the core features are live and working but we're still refining the experience based on user feedback. You may occasionally encounter bugs or limitations. We appreciate your patience and welcome any feedback — please get in touch at contact@songsleuth.app.
6. WHAT'S COMING NEXT?
We have a lot planned for Song Sleuth. Features in development include:
- Amazon Music integration
- Beatport and Juno Records integration for DJs
- Apple Music affiliate links for a smoother purchasing experience
- Background track scanning to pre-load purchase links for your entire library
- Mobile app
7. HOW DO I REPORT A BUG OR GIVE FEEDBACK?

8. HOW DO I DELETE MY ACCOUNT?
You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings. Go to Account → Delete Account and follow the steps. You will have a 14-day window to reactivate your account before your data is permanently deleted.
